Medicare Information

You need to get the most out of your Medicare, and the best way to do that is to make sure that you buy the right product for you.  The general thinking is that the best option is a Med Supp or sometimes called Medigap plan, but this is not always the right option for everyone. If you're Medicare eligible, you've likely been inundated with flyers, postcards, and maybe even phone calls. One of our brokers will sit down with you and do a personal needs evaluation, and find the right plan for you and your specific needs.  Medicare plan decisions are a personal choice, so the plan that your friend or neighbor has, may not be right for you. Don't worry, we never charge for our services, and many customers qualify for $0 premium Medicare plans they didn't even know were available.

Medicare Supplement Plans

Sometimes referred to as Medsupp or MediGap, Medicare Supplement Plans are an insurance policy that helps cover costs that original Medicare does not. This plan is provided by a private company and helps cover expenses like co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles, but you retain your original Medicare coverage. Depending on your plan, this may also cover medical treatment outside the United States and other non-Medicare covered expenses. Typically these plans increase in price as you get older, and cost is based on deductibles and out of pocket expenses.

Medicare Advantage Plans

A private policy that contracts with Medicare to provide your Part A and Part B benefits. These plans may include health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, private fee-for-service plans, special needs plans and medical savings account plans. With a Medicare advantage plan, your Medicare benefits will be disbursed and facilitated through a third-party plan provider. Most Medicare advantage plans also provide prescription drug programs.

Special Needs Plans

In most cases, a Special Needs Plan, or SNP, is a plan specifically for people with certain health conditions like heart, lung, diabetes or kidney. These plans are typically a different type of Medicare Advantage plan that has benefits and prescription drug coverage tailored to the needs of someone with one of those conditions.

Prescription Drug Plans

Also called a “PDP,” a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan I a private insurance policy that contracts with Medicare to provide prescription drug coverage. This coverage may be available as part of your Medicare advantage plan, or may be a separate policy altogether.

Dental, Vision and Supplemental

Seniors who are covered under Medicare often do not have any coverage for dental and vision care. Because healthy teeth and eyes are essential to overall health, we offer dental and vision insurance plans for seniors at competitive rates.

If you want to learn about your Medicare alternatives, you need to talk to a broker. A broker can find the best plan available for your needs, and tailor a solution specifically for you.
